Zsolt Szabo made his first division debut as a referee on the 7th September 1996. That was in a game between Vac-Pecs. He was voted official of the year in season 2001-2002. He repeated that the following season when he was chosen by the Nemzeti Sport journal. Szabo picked up the golden spectacle award, which is decided by football supporters in the same year.
He was most recently in charge of Vidi's Hungarian cup match with Ferencvaros, which saw Vidi win 1-0 in that first leg tie. Szabo will be assisted by Gabor Eros and Krisztian Kiraly for Tuesday's match. The fourth official will be Daniel Szalai.
