Stopira and Simon to miss the big game with FTC

Full details of the current injury situation as Vidi prepare for the cup match at Ferencvaros.

Adam Simon and Stopira have both picked up injuries during training. Simon suffered a ligament injury, while Stopira has muscle problems. Both will not feature in Vidi's Hungarian cup tie at Ferencvaros on Wednesday. Club Doctor Tibor Kovacs gave further details: "Adam Simon picked up an unfortunate injury during training after a bad movement that saw him turn his ankle and suffer ligament damage. He will need to rest and then receive treatment, which will see him having to sit out for several weeks. Stopira also picked up an injury during a training session. He has recovered quickly but is training inside the gym at the moment. He will have a check-up next week and we will then decide after when he can begin rehabilitation" - commented the club doctor.

Dinko Trebotic and Filipe Oliveira received treatment back in January. They have since been training with the rest of the first team squad. However, they have missed several weeks and a decision will be made about whether they will feature in the first match of spring. Asmir Suljic and Mate Patkai both picked up injuries in the friendly game at Maribor. The situation with them is similar as they have been in training, but the coaching staff will make a decision about them being in the squad for the FTC match.

Zsolt Poloskei had an operation back in December, which saw him begin rehabilitation work in January. He has since played in several friendly games and he looks hopeful. Rudolf Gergely and Krisztian Geresi both took part in Tuesday evening's training session, but they are doubtful for the game on Wednesday.

"The squad have been preparing together apart from the two injured players, Simon and Stopira. There were players that required treatment at the start of pre-season. There were players that received kicks or picked up an injury in a collision that forced them out of training. This will all be taken into consideration before we name our squad for the game with Ferencvaros" - commented Vidi head coach Ferenc Horvath.
