Hungary picked up a very good 1-0 first leg win in Oslo, Norway on Thursday evening in the first leg of the play off.

"I felt ecstatic when I heard that I would be in the starting line-up. This only got better when I stepped out on to the pitch, and could see the stadium was full. I also saw many Hungarian supporters that had travelled out to Norway. I will never forget the events of the 26th minute of the game. Akos Elek passed the ball to me, which I managed to control well, and nobody put a challenge in, so I knew then that I had to shoot at goal. I have scored many goals during my career so far, but I have never felt like this after one. It felt like time had stopped, and all movement was going on around me. I had to mainly defend during the second half, and felt quite tired around the 70th minute. I told the bench that if it wasn't a problem, then I would like to come off as it would not have been fair to have remained out there on the pitch if you cannot perform 100%. We won a very important match but we are not yet at the European Championships. Another important game will take place on Sunday when we play the return leg" - commented Laszlo Kleinheisler.
"It was a difficult game and Gabor Kiraly's save after 3 minutes kept us in the match. If Norway would have scored then, the outcome of the match would have been very different. We then managed to deal with the home pressure and come out a bit. Kleinheisler also had two dangerous shots, with the second being a fantastic goal. We all know that he is a type of player who can settle a match anytime. He confirmed this out on the pitch. The second half turned out as we thought it would with the home team putting us under pressure. We placed our energy on defending and there wasn't too much left for us to attack them. It is also true that we did have a good counter attack in this period. We have taken a small step towards the European Championships, but we all know that we have not achieved anything yet. We will go in to Sunday's game with the advantage, but it will be a very difficult 90 minutes for us" - said Adam Lang to vidi.hu.
"It is always hard for a player to watch an important match from the stands, especially in a game like this when you cannot play due to suspension. You do everything with the other players during the whole week until the final moment. Then you can support them. I sat next to the bench, and the whole squad were really together as we watched the match. This also shows the morale and togetherness within our squad. This is very important ahead of Sunday's second leg. I was delighted that Laszlo Kleinheisler took his chance from the national team manager, and was not frightened with the task in hand. He gave a good example of how to grab a chance when it comes your way. I will do all I can to make sure that I am in the team on Sunday, but they do say that you should not change a winning team. We will see what happens and whether I can play. Whatever the outcome is, I will do everything to help the national team. We must not play for the draw on Sunday, and I hope that we will have more chances in that game than we did here in Norway. We need to remain very organized as a team and achieve our target with the help of the supporters" - commented Roland Juhasz to the club's website.
