You said back in 2011 in an interview that it was a big dream of yours to become the manager of Vidi. That dream has come true. How do you feel?

Wherever I have worked, I have never denied how much I have to thank Szekesfehervar. It is a massive honour for me to become head coach. My professional playing career began back in 1991 with Vidi. You could say that I became a man at this club, joining at the age of 18 and staying for 5 seasons. I have always had strong ties to Vidi. I twice returned to the club and won the Hungarian cup and the League cup. It was natural that I would one day like to work as a manager here.

You have just completed your first training session. Naturally you will be clear about the qualities of the players. What will be your most important task over the coming days?

The playing squad here is very good. The most important task will be to create a very well-functioning side. We all need to stick together and head in the same direction. The task is to make sure Vidi perform successfully.

You are not famous for your teams playing defensive football. Everything is in place in Fehervar for the team to dominate matches. What kind of Vidi team will there be under Ferenc Horvath?

Since I was a forward in my playing career, it is understandable that attacking football is close to me. The main target is to make sure the team does not lose. I strongly feel that there is a very big difference between a team that does not want to lose a match and one that would like to actually win it. My aim is the latter one.

You have known Sports Director Zoltan Kovacs for a long term now. What will it be like to work together with him?

We were team mates together at Ujpest and also for the national team. We have similar principles with Zoltan on and off the football pitch and we have a good relationship. We were both waiting for this chance to work together, so I hope that we will have a successful working relationship.

What is your message to the supporters in Szekesfehervar. Many of them have followed your career and the majority have been positive about your new role?

I will do all I can to make sure the team performs as they are expected to here. We need to know that this is a unique 7 months contract, and no less or no more. For me it is a dream come true while I can also help the club. Not every manager would have accepted these conditions, but I was pleased to accept for the reasons above. I can promise that in the coming 7 months, I will be working day and night to make sure the team reaches its targets.
