In overcast conditions and the temperature at around the 7c mark, and on a pitch that was not looking its best, the big match against MTK kicked off at the temporary home of the Bozsik stadium in Budapest. Roland Juhasz was missing through injury, while both Nemanja Nikolics and Gyorgy Sandor had to also skip the game with illness. Kovacs was brought down on 6 minutes. The resulting free kick from 19 meters was taken by Gyurcso, but his shot hit the defensive wall. Gyurcso then fed Feczesin 3 minutes later, who crossed from the right, but Vukmir was well placed to clear. MTK had a good chance after 10 minutes when Zsolt Horvath found himself in space, but pressure from Vinicius ended with his shot going wide of the right post.

Csiki then showed dribbling skills as he cut in from the left and his 24 meters shot produced a good save from Calatayud. Kovacs released Feczesin with a nice ball on 17 minutes, whose low cross from the right was again cleared by Vukmir ahead of Oliveira. Vinicius shot over on 24 minutes from 11 meters out following a corner.

Gyurcso was found with a lovely ball, and his resulting shot from the right went over the bar. Gyurcso then sent in a high ball from a free kick, which was met by the head of Vinicius that required a save from keeper Hegedus. Csiki found himself with a good chance on the half hour, shooting from 8 meters but Szolnoki was on hand to produce a good clearance. A fine one two between Gyurcso and Feczesin ended with a home defender forcing the Vidi player wide, who still managed to shoot at Hegedus.

There was a misunderstanding between two MTK defenders, which Feczesin pounced on and broke towards goal, and he was brought down as the final man by Vukmir. The referee showed a straight red to the experienced defender. The resulting free kick from Gyurcso from 17 meters curled towards the left post with Hegedus punching the ball clear. Simon then hit another shot just wide of the post. Gyurcso ran on goal on 39 minutes from the left, and it appeared as if he was challenged inside the box, but the match official did not see a foul. The two teams went in at the break with the score at 0-0.

The start of the second half was evident that MTK were relying on hitting counter attacks. The majority of play was inside the home teams half. The balls into their box were continually cleared by the home defenders, with Vidi unable to really create a real chance. Poloskei's shot went off Chakla and out for a corner after 54 minutes. Gyurcso went on a run down the left a minute later. He was brought down by an opposing player, but again the referee waved play on. Gyurcso clipped a ball in to Oliveira who headed it in to the path of Trebotic, who shot over with his effort from 15 meters. Alvarez dribbled the ball on 69 minutes before blasting a shot from 20 meters over. Oliveria, who had been substituted earlier was shown a second yellow card on the bench after 74 minutes, with referee Tamas Bognar coming over to produce a red card.

The game turned on 78 minutes when Ivanovski curled a good ball in from the right for Feczesin to head home from 10 meters (0-1). The tempo increased in the remaining minutes with Poloskei trying a shot from 38 meters, but Calatayud was on hand to save. Heffler's low cross from the left was hacked clear ahead of the waiting Ivanovski. Vinicius was alert to intercept ahead of former Vidi player Torghelle. The 5 minutes of injury time included an MTK free kick, which saw Kanta curl his shot into the wall.

Vidi ended up winning 1-0 against MTK, so they increase the lead at the top of the table to 9 points. There were many supporters who made the trip from Szekesfehervar to support their side and they produced a good atmosphere.

Vidi are next in action on Wednesday in a league cup match against Debrecen.
