Joan Carrillo: I am very satisfied with the work carried out over the pre-season

We asked the head coach ahead of the start to the spring season to sum out the work carried out over the winter break. We also asked him about the current Vidi squad and he also revealed what he expects over the spring season.

The first division spring season is now underway. How would you sum up Vidi's pre-season?

I am very satisfied with the work carried out during the pre-season period. There were several aims during both training camps in Spain, which the team managed to successfully implement. Another important factor of the pre-season was that the new players could adjust and fit in as quickly as possible to our playing phyilosophy and playing system. This is never easy but I feel that things went well overall.

How do you see the changes that have taken place in the squad, and how much will it add to the strength of the team?

As I have said before, it is not an easy task for new players to come in and completely get used to our play. In order for this to succeed 100%, we still need a little time. The most important thing is that the spine of the team remains together. Caneira was the only player to leave the club. So Calatayud, Sandor, Stopira, Nikolics and Oliveira will all stay with us, which is very important over the spring season.

What are your hopes for the spring campaign?

The most important is that we work day after day in order that we will be better. We also want the team to be in the best form possible so that they can make the supporters pleased.
