Vidi visited the home of Dunaujvaros who have not lost a league game on their home pitch this season. The home team had also recorded a 2-1 win over Vidi in the league cup in recent days. It is also true that both managers did mention that the league game would be completely different.
It was a slippery surface that greeted the two sides, but the players quickly adjusted to the conditions. They managed to produce an attractive game that was played on a difficult pitch, and also at a good tempo. There was hardly 10 minutes on the clock when top goalscorer Nikolics struck! He took the ball off home defender Csehi, before running at goal and slipping the ball beyond the keeper (0-1). Then 5 minutes later, Alvarez got hold off a loose ball, before heading down the wing and crossing the ball in to the centre. Nikolics did well to lift the ball over Nagy, but the Dunaujvaors defender cleared the danger. Boor made Calatayud work on 20 minutes. The 29th minute saw Vidi extend their lead with a nice goal! Nikolics received a lovely ball and then headed towards goal, before looking up and unselfishly squaring the ball to the unmarked Gyurcso to find the back of the empty net (0-2). Vidi's Spanish keeper pulled off a smart save from Petnehazi after 39 minutes. Then Nikolics could have scored his second a minute before half time. He ran alone towards the home goal, and cleverly tried to lob the approaching keeper, but Nagy managed to reach it and claim the ball in his arms. The two sides went in at the break with the score at 0-2.
There was no real change to the pattern of play at the start of the second half. Trebotic found Alvarez with a lovely ball on 53 minutes, who showed good movement to slip the ball past the home keeper 0-3. Vidi's side was depleted on 63 minutes after the match official judged Sandor's challenge on Boor as a foul. The forward had appeared to have limited options, with Sandor racing back, but Vad pointed to the penalty spot and also sent off the Videoton captain. Boor picked himself up to convert the resulting sport kick. (1-3).
Substitute player Soron then dwelled on the ball and Stopira managed to catch up with him, which seemed to affect the home player, but his shot hit the post and Calatayud then saved well. Calatayud reacted well to save from Nikhazi after 85 minutes, while at the other end, Nikolics shot first at goal and then shortly after saw his header well saved by keeper Nagy. Caneira flicked on a corner on 87 minutes, for the arriving Vinicius to convert in to the back of the net for a well worked set piece (1-4). Stopira received his second yellow card of the game in the 93rd minute, with Vad showing another red card for a Videoton player. Vidi played out the final moments of the last league game with 9 men.
It was a good match with nice goals scored, and a deserved win at the home of a side that had yet to taste defeat on their own pitch. Vidi will play their first league game of next year at the home of Győri ETO, which will see Sandor and Stopira miss that game, while Vinicius also picked up his 5th yellow, which will mean he will also sit out that league game.

Vidi's goalscoring forward also mentioned that the last 2 away league matches have brought 9 goals and 6 points, which has shown that Vidi can be just as good away from home as on their own pitch.

The two managers shared their thoughts on Saturday's league match.

We asked the Vidi head coach about the kind of game he was expecting.

The midfielder also said that Dunaujvaros may have the psychological advantage, after beating Vidi a few days ago in the league cup, but the league match will be a totally different game.

Vidi's county rivals have picked up 10 points from their last 4 home league games.

Videoton entertain Dunaujvaros at the Sostoi stadium on Saturday.
