Videoton travelled to Kecskemet on Saturday for an OTP league fixture. In cloudy conditions with around 2000 inside the stadium, the 23rd round of the league calendar was played out.
Vidi started the match well, with Haraszti twice having chances on goal early on, with the first being denied by a defender, while keeper Poleksic dealt with the second. Juhasz had a header following a corner that caused danger on the home goal. Kecskemet began to slowly wake up with Greczi having a powerful shot, which went just wide of the post after 11 minutes. There were further small efforts from the home team, who were managed by former Vidi player and Coach Balazs Beko. Vidi also had chances near the opposition’s goal, but unfortunately the ball got stuck under the feet of Alvarez.
The lilacs tried with efforts from Greczi, Szecsi and Poti, while Nikolics looked dangerous for the visitors, who were playing in their all red kit. Kecskemet then went ahead before the half time break: Greczi sent in a corner, with two players going up for the ball, before Eninful found the back of the net with his left foot from 7 meters out, to make it 1-0.
Videoton started the second half with plenty of energy, but the ball got as far as the edge of the opponents box, and the home defence dealt with anything that came their way. Bebeto came on for KTE after 56 minutes and he could have increased the lead with his first touch, but both Szolnoki and Vinicius squeezed him out, and the ball went out for a corner. The Senegalese forward went one better 7 minutes later following a counter attack. He raced onto a through ball before beating Calatayud to roll the ball in to the back of the net. (2-0).
The reply was quick from the Fehervar side, who were back in the match within two minutes. Stopira crossed from the left and Nikolics stuck his leg out to make it 2-1. Vidi fought to get back on level terms and there were chances to do this, but the goal did not come. The closest was a powerful shot from substitute Kleinheisler whose effort was tipped over the bar by Poleksic. Kecskemet continued to hit dangerous counter attacks, which eventually led to them making the game safe close to the final whistle. Eninful found Szecsi with a pass in the middle, and he made the final score (3-1).
The three minutes of injury time did not allow Vidi to find a consolation goal, with Kecskemet emerging winners in this league match. Vidi are currently in third place and have a home match against Papa next week at the Sostoi stadium.

The two managers spoke to the gathered media shortly after the final whistle.

Videoton travel to Kecskemet on Saturday in search of maximum points.

Former Videoton player and then coach will send out his Kecskemet side to face his old club.

We asked the manager of Videoton about his thoughts on Saturday's league match with KTE.

The young midfielder scored a nice goal in the midweek league cup win over Pecs. He will be equally pleased to do the same against Kecskemet.

The match official from Bekescsaba will take charge of his fourth match involving Vidi this season.
