In very cold conditions, which included rain and even sunshine, Videoton FC were the visitors at Kozarmisleny in the League cup. The home side struggled to get out of their own half in the opening minutes, which saw them fall a goal behind after 6 minutes on the clock. Zsoter crossed for Gyurcso, who was pulled down by Fenyvesi, with referee Jozsef Berger pointing to the penalty spot, while also sending off the home defender at the same time. Torghelle stepped up to calmly find the corner and put Vidi a goal up.
Videoton continued to attack after taking the lead. Alvarez, Brachi and Zsoter all had attempts, but neither could extend the scoreline. The visitors who were playing in their familiar red shirts and blue shorts increased the lead on 31 minutes. Balazs Toth got hold of the ball in the opponents half, before releasing Alvarez, who stepped in between two defenders, to confidently find the back of the net past Helesfay.
Alvarez almost scored his second a couple of minutes later, but the Kozarmisleny keeper produced a good safe to deny the El Salvador attacker. There was still time in the final moments of the first half for Gyurcso to settle the match with the third goal, which he scored from close range. Vidi went in at the break with a good three goal lead, having attacked for the majority of the opening 45 minutes.
The second half started in he same fashion where Videoton had finished in the first period: José Gomes' side continued to attack in search of more goals. Zsoter and Gyurcso were causing problems for the home defence with their pace. The fourth goal duly arrived when Alvarez made it 4-0 with a header in the 72nd minute of the match. It was to be the final goal in the match and give Videoton the three points. The visitors produced a confident display to keep top spot in the group with two games left. Those are the home match with Paks on the 13th November and the 20th November tie at Dunaujvaros.
