Joaquin Manuel Welo Lupeta came through the youth ranks at Lourinhanense, where he remained until the age of 19 years old. The Portuguese U18 international played for his country in 9 games, scoring 4 goals. The young forward said the following after signing for Vidi. 

"Videoton FC are a club that has everything in place, to become a club like Porto or Sporting in Portugal. The club is built on a solid base and they have achieved good results until now. I am really excited about getting out there on the pitch and helping the club achieve new successes" - said Lupeta, who will remain with Videoton FC until June 30th 2013.
