The 2011/2012 league season has flown by quickly. The performances over the spring season have seen Vidi lose just once, drawing another, while they have managed to beat all the other sides that they have come up against. The red and blues are virtually guaranteed second place, with a superior goal difference and three points separating them from third place Győri ETO. Three clubs are currently involved in the fight for fourth place, which would mean a place in the Europa league this summer.

The weekend action kicks off on Saturday, with no games taking place on the Friday. Diosgyőr entertain relegated Vasas, with the Miskolc side looking to carry on their recent upturn in fortunes. Vasas will just want to get the season over with as soon as possible. The current season has been one of the worst in the Budapest clubs history. Paks are just a point off fourth place, and a win for them over Ferencvaros could see them leapfrog two clubs. Ferencvaros have suffered from poor form lately. They lost at the Sostoi stadium recently, before surprising home defeats against both Papa and Siofok. Fradi will be looking to have a much better season next year, under the management of Lajos Detari, whose contract was extended last week.

Pecs are another club who have been very poor lately. They have lost their last 5 games, with most of them being heavy defeats. They will take on fourth placed Honved on Saturday, with the visitors looking to win the game and secure their place in Europe.  Siofok are fresh from their 1-0 win at Ferencvaros at the weekend. The Balaton side will finish in mid table, which is a very good achievement for a club on small resources. Kecskmet will be the visitors and they are just a point off Honved. The violets will be hoping that Pecs do them a favour and that goals from Lencse and Tokoli will bring them good fortune.

Champions Debrecen have a home game with Haladas to wrap up a very good year. They have done the league and cup double and they will have gone through the whole season undefeated, if they can get a point or three on Saturday. Haladas have had a positive spring season and a top 8 finish is a good return following their change of manager during the winter break. The match is also interesting from the Vidi viewpoint, as Debrecen striker Coulibaly is currently level on goals with Nemanja Nikolics. The final weekend of the league calendar could determine the outright top goalscorer.

There are three matches on Sunday to close the season. Lombard Papa are hosts to Győri ETO, who will finish the season in third. Papa have picked up a couple of good wins lately to secure their own future in the first division. Győr have been told that they will not be allowed to compete in the Europa league, so they will just want to get to next season and hope for better luck. Kaposvar face relegated ZTE in a game where there is very little to play for. ZTE will be keen to go out with a win following a very disappointing season for Laszlo Prukner and his side. Kaposvar recently announced that they would be looking for a new manager next season, after Tibor Sisa said that he had gone as far as he could with that club.
