It was another weekend of football in the OTP first division. It was also a weekend of controversy and talking points, which saw the top three sides in the league all win their games. Honved kicked off the weekend with a home win over in form Siofok. The Budapest side raced into a 3-0 lead, before Simon hit a consolation goal for the Balaton club. The win for Honved keeps them in 4th place, and they now have a 4 point lead over 5th in the table Kecskemet. Siofok also had on loan youngster Zsolt Haraszti (pictured) playing on the right wing. The player, who joined Vidi over the winter transfer window, put in a good display showing plenty of pace and promise in the game at the Bozsik stadium.
Saturday included 5 matches with ZTE taking on Vidi in the early kick off. Zalaegerszeg went into the game knowing that they had to win to stay in the division. However, Vidi scored a goal in both periods to secure a 2-0 away win, therefore relegating ZTE to second division football next season. The game included three sending off's and several talking points during the match. Haladas and Ujpest shared a point each in their 1-1 draw. The Szombathely side took the lead after on loan Vidi player, Daniel Nagy cut the ball back for Kenesei to blast beyond the Ujpest keeper. The violets equalised in the second half and also had Peter Rajczi sent off towards the end.
Pecs have not enjoyed an upturn in form since they changed manager recently. Mid table Paks claimed the three points as Adam Hrepka (pictured) hitting both of the visitors goals in the second half. The win also saw Paks move up a couple of places to sixth as a result. Pecs have now slipped down the league table, despite making a good start to the season. There was a big bottom of the table clash at the Illovszky stadium in Budapest. Vasas needed to win to keep pace with the teams above them, but a point for both sides will do either any favours. Vasas are now three points adrift of Kaposvar and have little time left to get out of trouble. Ferencvaros began their game with KTE very well and were quickly 2-0 up. The green and whites have been doing well recently, although they had to defend after KTE scored an early reply in the second half. However, Lajos Detari's FTC held out to collect the three points. The match at the Albert stadium also saw another two players, one from each side, sent off in either half.
The top two sides each played on Sunday, with Győri ETO kicking off first at home to Diosgyőr. The visitors had two players sent off in yet another controversial game. The opening goal came following a powerful long range shot, which slipped through the hands of the Diosgyőr keeper. ETO added a second towards the end, and briefly took over top position in the table. Another defeat for the Miskolc side means they are now in mid table. The final match of the weekend saw Debrecen beat Kaposvar at home. The damage was done in the first half with all three goals being scored. Kaposvar could find no way back and the three points resulted in Debrecen reclaiming top spot. Debrecen enjoy a two point lead over Győr, with six points splitting ETO with third in the table Videoton. The top two will also shortly be meeting with each other and ETO also have to travel to the Sostoi stadium, so the outcome is not that clear yet.

A 90-es években már volt arra példa, hogy vendégként léptünk pályára a Sóstói Stadionban, sőt a tavalyi Szuperkupa-döntőben sem mi voltunk a pályaválasztók.

Ferencváros elleni Ligakupa-döntővel hangolódunk a vasárnapi rangadóra!

Izgalmas, fordulatos mérkőzésen egy szép kapásgól döntött a 3 pont sorsáról.
