A double strike by Milan Perics more or less settled the tie for Videoton away at Papa. A place in the final looks secure following a comfortable 3-0 away win at the compact Perutz stadium. Torghelle's injury time strike just confirmed what most had expected, which means that either Debrecen or Kecskemet await Vidi in the final, unless Papa manage to score at least four away goals at the Sostoi in the second leg. Paulo Sousa shuffled his team around, bringing in Tujvel back in goal. Vasko partnered Vinicius at the back with Gyurcso continuing his run in the side on the right side of midfield, while Sandor, Kovacs, Toth and Brandao made up the midfield four. Perics played as the lone striker, but had lots of support from the ten men behind him.

Vidi had plenty of possession in the early exchanges, looking comfortable on the ball. There was a strong wind throughout the match, making it difficult for both sides to get the ball down and play football. Brachi crossed well on 9 minutes, but it just failed to reach the head of Peric. Gyurcso shot wide of the target after being played in by Peric on 15 minutes. Brachi's powerful shot on 22 minutes was saved well by home keeper Takacs. Captain Sandor went even closer a minute later, with his shot sailing just over the bar.

Evandro turned well before shooting wide of the post after 32 minutes. It was all Vidi at this stage with the home side failing to test Tujvel in the Vidi goal. Sandor was fouled after 40 minutes, with Brachi taking a good looking free kick, which found its way into the hands of Takacs. The referee blew for half time with the scores goaless and everything to play for in the second half. Paulo Sousa mentioned before the match that the tie would be settled after 180 minutes, but his side had other ideas. Mitrovics and Szolnoki came on to add options to the Vidi side. Centre back Vasko then played a lovely through ball, which found its way infront of Perics, with only the keeper to beat. He did just that after 57 minutes to give Videoton an away leg lead. Milan Perics doubled his tally and Vidi's lead after 69 minutes, when Evandro's ball in was controlled by the unmarked Vidi striker, who had time to take the ball down and volley home.

Sub Uros Nikolics needed treatment for an injury after 85 minutes. The tie was settled in the final minute of the match. Dangerman Perics ran unchallenged on goal and he unselfishly laid the ball to his right, with Torghelle simply placing the ball in to the back of the empty goal. The 3-0 scoreline was due to a good professional and disciplined performance from Paulo Sousa's side, who have now strung 3 consecutive wins to their name. The return leg in two weeks should be a formality, but Vidi will be well prepared.
