Videoton FC rounded up their winter pre-season break with a defeat against the Russian giants

A 16th minute goal from Mussa was the difference in the scoreline as Vidi rounded up their Marbella adventure. Lining up against the Russian side, which has made it into the last 16, with a key match against Real Madrid coming up, Vidi were very much in this game until the final whistle. Paulo Sousa lined up with Bozovics in goal, with a back four of Brachi, Vinicius, Caneira and Silva very much picking itself. A five man midfield of Gyurcso, Walter, Mitrovic, Kovacs and Toth gave cover as well as offered attacking options to Nikolics upfront.
In front of the watching Real Madrid manager, Jose Mourinho, who was doing his own homework on the CSKA side, Vidi battled and at times looked dangerous. The opposition included 5 players from the side that had won 2-1 away against Inter. Moscow began the match the stronger winning plenty of possession and playing short neat passing football. Vidi had the first corner of the game with a dangerous Gyurcso corner causing problems after 10 minutes. Mamev replied on 12 minutes with a powerful long range effort for CSKA. Vidi fell behind on 16 minutes when Mussa broke into the box from the right and hit powerfully through the legs of Bozovics into the back of the net. The Russians continued to mount pressure, while Mitrovics became the first player to go into the referee's book. That would prove crucial as he would later go on to be sent off.
Vidi almost equalised after 21 minutes following a long ball from Caneria, which caused problems for the Russian defence. One of the defenders attempted to head the ball back to the keeper, who was caught off guard. Walter brought out a great save from Chepchugov after 29 minutes, with Vidi unlucky not to score the leveller. Vidi were beginning to have chances on goal with Nikolics looking threatening upfront. The teams went in at the break with Moscow one up. The second half began with Caneira requiring treatment for an injury to his hand. He was forced to come off as a result for further treatment. Mitrovics then saw red for his second booking of the match. That reduced Videoton down to ten men and made things harder.
Sandor tried to play Walter through on goal midway through the second half but the Russians cleared the danger. Vidi were trying hard to find a way through a well organised CSKA defence. The Russians were also beginning to put in harder tackles to keep their lead, but were fair at the same time. Torghelle saw an effort go wide of the keeper and the post after neat work from Gosztonyi towards the end. The referee blew for full time with Videoton losing this final friendly by a single goal. Videoton FC were a much better side after the break creating more chances and threats on the Russian goal. This performance, especially the second period, will give plenty of hope for the months ahead.

Csapatunk utolsó spanyolországi mérkőzésén 1-0-ra kikapott a BL-szereplő CSZKA Moszkvától.
