Videoton FC closed their 2011 league campaign with a good away win at form side Paks. Paks led through a 40th minute Szatmari goal, before second half efforts from Vinicius, who scored his first goal in Vidi colours, and substitute Nikolics secured the three points for Paulo Sousa's side. Bozovics continued in goal, after making his first league appearance of the season in last weeks 7-0 win over Siofok. There were starts for Andras Gosztonyi and Akos Elek in a five man midfield, with loan forward Andre Alves looking to continue his recent hot form. Vidi went in to the game as the top team in current form, having won five and drawn two of the last seven games. The three points also secured third spot for the red and blues, with just a Hungarian cup match with Haladas left to play this year. Oliveira returned to left back, having played the last few games on the right wing. Videoton also had the luxury of a strong bench, with players like Nikolics, Vasziljevics and Walter to call upon. In the end it was to be Nikolics who would be the hero once again. It has been a very good finish to the autumn season for Vidi.

In near zero conditions, and on a hard pitch, it was Vidi who made the early running. The eighth minute saw Elek break in to the box on the left before laying it off to Alves, whose effort was cleared. Sandor then had a chance from a tight angle a minute later, but once again the home goal survived. Elek and Oliveira combined in the twelve minute to set up Alves, whose shot was saved by Paks keeper Csernyánszki. Videoton were finding room on the right hand side and could have gone ahead in the eighteenth minute. A corner from Mitrovics resulted in Alves heading over the bar. Paks broke away in the twenty-fifth minute through a Sifter-Bode and Szatmari build up. Sifter was left with the chance to score unmarked but he failed to and the scores remained at 0-0.

Csernyánszki was on hand to save well from Alves a minute later as Vidi stepped up the pressure. Elek then had a great shot deflected just wide in the twenty eighth minute. The home keeper was kept busy with chances from Toth, Oliviera and Sandor to deal with. Paks then took the lead against the run of play after the visitors dominated. Szatmari received a clever reverse pass and turned to unleash a good shot across the face of the goal, and into the corner of the net. Alves had a penalty appeal waved away in the forty-third minute by the Chilean referee. That was the last chance of an exciting first half.

Nikolics came on early in the second half in place of the injured Oliveira, with Elek switching to the left back position. Walter came on for Toth in the sixty-third minute and he was involved in the equaliser a minute later. A short corner by Walter played in Mitrovics, whose delicate cross was headed home by the unmarked Vinicius. It was the defenders first goal since joining in the summer. Vidi were not about to sit on a point and continued to press forward in search of the second. Bode had a good chance on seventy nine minutes but his finish failed to find the target. The winner eventually came for Videoton in the eighty-fourth minute. A good build up saw the ball end up at the feet of Nikolics, who turned 360 degrees before blasting the ball high over the home keeper to give the visitors all three points. The players headed off at the end of the game to thank the 200 travelling supporters who had backed their side throughout the entire 90 minutes. Vidi now have a Hungarian cup game on Wednesday to look forward to at the Sostoi stadium, against Haladas.
