Győri ETO managed to keep all of the points at the ETO Park on Sunday afternoon. There was plenty of rain leading up to the match, which made the surface slippery. Vidi went into the game sitting in sixth place in the table, after Kecskemet won at home to go ahead of the red and blues. A win would have taken Vidi into third spot ahead of Honved. Paulo Sousa fielded a strong starting eleven, with plenty of men packing midfield, leaving Alves alone up front. The two west Hungary rivals tried to get the upper hand in the opening exchanges. Győr have a 100% home record, which has played a big part in them lying in second place. The stats going into the match showed that the home side have only conceeded three goals at home, and it was easy to see why. 

The seventh minute saw Pilibaitis and VIdi's Toth go for a 50-50 ball with the former coming off the worst. Captain Gyorgy Sandor had the first effort on goal, blasting over after 8 minutes. ETO took the lead when Ji-Parana escaped down the left and his neat cross, was volley home in spectacular fashion by Dudas, who timed his run to perfection. It was Győr's first real chance on goal, but the finish from Dudas was clinical. Ji-Parana then had a shot saved a minute later by Tujvel, as Győr threatened to extend their lead. Both teams sat back with plenty of tackles going in all over the pitch to keep the referee busy. Szbo and Dinjar went into the book, with Brachi following them inside the first half. Mitrovics released Elek on the half hour, with the tall midfielder rounded the keeper before shooting across the face of the goal.

Brachi had the final chance of the first half when his free kick, bounced unkindly in front of Stevanovics, who grabbed hold of the ball at the second attempt. Caneira played a good one two with Alves at the start of the second half, before shooting wildly over when through. Vidi put plenty of pressire on the home goal for the first quarter hour of the second period. Brachi and Toth had further long range efforts in the 50th minute, without really testing the home keeper. Oliveira went one better after 53 minutes, and this time the Serbian keeper was on hand to keep the home side ahead. Caneira then joined Brachi in the ref's book midway through the second half. The game had very few efforts, but the atmosphere inside the stadium remained hot, with both sets of supporters doing their bit. Alves claimed for a penalty on 57 minutes, after Takacs made contact with the ball. Győr defended in numbers and were happy for Videoton to come at them.

VInicius then did well to clear the danger, with Dudas ready to pounce from a cross by Dinjar. Walter Lee came on for Sandor to add to the attacking options. ETO continued to defend with discipline restricting Vidi to long range efforts. Nemanja Nikolics then came on for Andras Gosztonyi with Vidi looking to rescue something from the match. Mitrovics also set up Alves, but he failed to find any real strength as Stevanovics collected the ball. Elek and Mitrovics were booked towards the end as Győr held out for the win. The three points kept them just behind Debrecen in second place, with the home record 100% intact. Vidi now have a Hungarian cup match at Tatabanya in midweek, before a tricky visit to Lombard Papa next weekend.
