Videoton FC work hard in the local community with regular visits to the hospitals and schools
Football in the community
Football is not only about a game, that gives joy to the fans, but the more important role the club plays in the local community, which helps to keep the club popular. This is the philosophy which Videoton Football Club follows. The club believes that it is especially important to have a working relationship with their partners in the community. It is not by accident that owner, Istvan Garancsi, decided to have the Maltese charity services displayed on the players shirts. The club also plays an important role in local youth football, which is known as the VUK program. Videoton FC want to take advantage of the popularity of both football and the footballers to help those who are less fortunate and need help.
Players from the first team squad make regular visits to local schools, where they participate in physical education lessons with school children. The emphasis is placed on a healthy, sporting life and to use their spare time well. The visits include a question and answer session, a game of football and time for signed photos to be given out. The players arrive with gifts from the football club, which is handed out to the keen youngsters at the local schools. Presents include signed footballs, tickets, Videoton pennants and other special items that the young kids happily accept
