Elek scores his first goal for his country

Akos Elek scored the final goal in Hungary's 4-0 home win over Iceland

Hungary were in friendly action on Wednesday evening as they comfortably beat Iceland 4-0. International manager Sandor Egervari included Vidi pair Zoltan Liptak and Akos Elek in his starting eleven. Ex Videoton player Pal Lazar, who is now with Turkish side Samsunspor, watched from the stands having picked up a slight injury, which forced him to miss the match. Hungary began with: Bogdán Ádám - Varga József, Lipták Zoltán, Korcsmár Zsolt, Laczkó Zsolt - Vadócz Krisztián, Elek Ákos - Koman Vladimir, Hajnal Tamás, Dzsudzsák Balázs - Rudolf Gergely.

It was Iceland who had the first real efforts on goal. However, it was Koman who opened the scoring on 32 minutes with a long range effort, giving the Icelandic keeper no chance. It was 2-0 on half time when Gergely Rudolf rounded the keeper to slot the ball into the empty net, after a good through ball by Tamas Hajnal. Balazs Dzsudzsak made the game safe for the Hungarian national side with a powerful shot into the far corner of the net. Hungary went forward looking to extend their lead further. A cross from the left in the 89th minute was met by Priskin, but his header hit the post and the rebound from 15 meters out by Videoton midfielder Akos Elek, flew into the corner of the net.
