Vidi began the match with Tujvel retaining his place in goal, and a back line, which remained unchanged from the last few games. The red and blues had a settled side and they began the game at a fast pace, which saw DVTK kept in their half for the first 20 minutes of the match. Both sides had suffered a defeat last week, which meant that they were anxious to get it out of their systems. Team captain Sandor had the first chance of the game after three minutes, but his effort went wide of the post. Daniel Nagy crossed from the right, on five minutes, and Sandor hit the post with his left foot, with the rebound falling to Alves who shot wide.
Sandor was seeing plenty of the ball as he almost released Alves on goal. The DVTK defence were finding it hard to clear the danger, and it seemed a matter of time before the breakthrough came. Vasziljevics shot over the bar after twenty minutes, as the pressure continued. Andras Gosztonyi on the left wing was having the better of the visiting right back. He easily beat Vadasz before crossing the ball in to the unmarked Alves, who placed his header into the corner of the net 1-0. The Brazilian striker showing great awareness to head beyond Rados, who had no chance.
The goal should have signalled further attacks on goal, as the home team looked to extend their lead. Alves shot at goal on twenty three minutes, with DVTK keeper Rados doing well to save it, while Sandor failed to connect with the ball from close range. Diosgyőr were finding it hard to come out of their own half in the opening thirty minutes. Sandor's perfect cross ball to Gosztonyi, once again saw the winger beat his man, but his centre avoided everyone and the danger was cleared. The final minutes of the opening period saw the visitors come more into the game. Their forwards were seeing more of the ball, without ever putting any real pressure on Tujvel's goal. The first half ended with Vidi leading by a single Alves goal. The first minute of the second half saw Alves escape down the left and his centre ended with Sandor heading over.
Tujvel saved well from substitute Menougong after fifty-two minutes. Akos Elek came on for Vasziljevics as Paulo Sousa looked at freshening things up. The majority of the second half saw the ball in the middle zone of the pitch, with perhaps the visitors enjoying more of the possession. Tujvel did well once more from Menougong with fifteen minutes left on the clock. Sandor then released Nagy, who should have done better from close range, with the DVTK keeper saving his effort. Budovinszky had a free kick go over the bar with five minutes left. Brachi then placed the ball for one of his trademark free kicks with two minutes left. He curled the ball beautifully, which saw his effort go in off one post to put the match beyond the reach of DVTK 2-0. It really was a moment of class from the Spanish right back and gave the keeper no chance. So Vidi pick up three points to move up the OTP league table, with a tough game at Debrecen ahead of them.
