Videoton scored two goals in each half to keep all three points at the Sostoi stadium on Sunday. Paulo Sousa was forced into changes before the match, with Vasko coming in at centre back, while Horvath switched to left back in place of the injured Hector. Walter came in on the left while Szakaly went over to the right wing. Videoton began well taking the match to a tired looking Paks side. Paks had done very well during the week to win 3-0 in Norway, but struggled to cope with the pace of the game. Sandor's deep ball after just four minutes released Vasziljevics, who bent the ball nicely around the stranded Paks keeper. 1-0! Paks, playing in all green struggled to get into the match in the opening 15 minutes, with Vidi doing all of the running. Sandor was playing well alongside Mitrovics in the centre of midfield. The former saw his effort hit the bar after 15 minutes as Vidi continued to press.

Walter was finding space down the left hand side and the Spaniard shot over after 22 minutes. Szakaly was also showing trickery with the ball on the right and his final ball in found the keepers hands a couple of minutes later. Paks began to come back into the match on the half hour. However, that changed on 35 minutes with the sending off of Bartha for a challenge on Sandor, who remained on the floor. Vidi made the game safe two minutes later after Alvaro's teasing ball in from the right fell kindly to Alves who made no mistake from close range. 2-0! Videoton's defence were having a fairly comfortable afternoon, but the visitors tried to change that by making two substitutions before half time.

The second half began with Vidi camped in Pak's half. Vasziljevics found himself with only the keeper to beat but he headed wide, after a long through ball. Paulo Sousa's side were playing neat football, mainly around the visitors penalty area. Eger saw a header go wide for Paks following a corner kick, but that was as close as the visitors were to get. Evandro then came on to make his full debut for Videoton after joining the red and blues from Benfica. He showed signs of class and his pace was causing problems for Eger and his fellow defenders. Vasziljevics made it three when he escaped the attention of his marker to meet Alves' lobbed ball into the box. The midfielder kept his calm to chest the ball past the keeper before stroking it into the back of the empty net. 3-0! It was no more than the home side deserved and in truth, Videoton could have won this match by a much higher margin.

Substitute Nemanja Nikolics came on and made it 4-0 with two minutes left, when his long range shot flew into the corner of the net. That wrapped up a nice afternoon's work for Sousa's side. There was still time for Evandro to powerfully shoot into the side netting, after he was released by a Walter through ball. So Vidi pick up their first points of the new league season, and the focus now switches to next weeks away game at Kaposvar. It was a good attacking display against a tired side. An added bonus was the first division debut of Roland Szolnoki, who came on as an 85th minute substitute.
