Evandro Brandão joins Videoton FC

The striker has joined from S. L. Benfica on a three year deal

Videoton are pleased to announce the signing of forward Evandro Elmer Carvalho Brandão. The 20-year old was born in Luanda, Angola but has played most of his football in both Portugal and England. He has represented Portugal at youth level and is an important signing for Videoton FC. The 5ft 11 player spent four years at Walsall before moving to Manchester united in 2006 to continue his development. Brandão then moved to Benfica in 2009, before going on loan to teams in the Portuguese second and third division. His last loan spell at third division Gondomar saw himn score ten goals in just twelve matches. The young forward becomes Paulo Sousa's fifth summer signing following the arrival of Spanish trio, Hector Sanchez, Alvaro Brachi, Walter Fernandez and Nicola Mitrovics.

The new Videoton player spoke to the clubs website:
"Paulo Sousa is a very good manager, and I am convinced about that. I had the good fortune to work with him when I was a youth international. I decided to join Videoton FC mainly due to the fact that he is the manager. I am clear with the fact that there is plenty of competition in the attacking department. There is more than one top goalscorer in the current squad, but my target is to get as much playing opportunity as possible. I would like to score goals that will help Videoton in both the domestic and European competitions."
