Videoton play their fifth friendly of their Spanish training camp on Thursday. Gyorgy Mezey's side face Xerez CD, whose full name is Xerez Club  Depotivo. They are the main club in the area of Jerez De La Frontera, with a population of around 205,000. They were founded after the end of the Second World War in 1949. They quickly made it into the third division, before enjoying several seasons in the Segunda division during the 1950's. The 1980' saw them become a stable member of the second division.

Season 2000/2001 saw them end up in fourth position in the Segunda, just missing out on promotion. However, they had made a name for themselves and a team to be noticed. The big breakthrough came in the 2008/2009 season, when they won the Segunda Division, and for the first time in their history, became a first division side. Their main aim was to remain in the top division, but that was to no avail, as the 2009/2010 season saw them win just 8, draw 10 and lose 20, picking up 34 points, which was not enough to keep them up.

Xerez currently lie in fourth place with 38 points, as they try to get back to the top level. The 23 league games to date has seen them win 11, drawing 5 and losing 7. They are 9 points behind second placed side Celta Vigo, with Rayo Vallecano in top place.
