"I knew that it was not that easy to obtain Hungarian citizenship, but I was hoping that it would be a little quicker than normal, as my mother is Hungarian. It did not turn out that way, but the most important thing now is that I have the document in my hand. I would like to thank my parents, who helped out a lot, as I had to hand in several relevant documents after I made my application. I am pleased that this day has finally arrived!"

Nemanja has not given up his Serbian passport, and has chosen dual nationality. This means that as of today, he can also receive a call up for the Hungarian national side, should manager Sandor Egervari choose so. "I am working  hard so that I can be in good form, and I know that I will have to score plenty of goals to get the attention of the national team manager." - said Nikolics.
