A look at three of Videoton's players over the festive season
The Christmas period is now behind us, and the players winter break is almost over. Vidi.hu spoke to three of the players to see how they spent the holiday period.
Denes Szakaly: "My period of rest was rather active, which for me means that I played in several small sided games with my friends, and former team mates. I played in two tournaments, one in Debrecen, and one before Christmas, which was held in Kaposvar. We go there every winter for the last five years. We also spent New Years Eve together with other players, which was good. I can rest and unwind in these tournaments, and I rarely stop completely."
While young Denes Szakaly spent the winter break with his friends, it was a different story for goalkeeper Zsolt Sebok. "We go over to Austria each year, to play in the snow with the kids. We decided to leave this out this year, and not go to Austria. We still played in the snow, and we are even planning to go to one of the mountain resorts tomorrow. The festivities went very well, and I spent as much time as I wanted to with my wife and kids. I enjoy these quiet periods, although they are also fun. I will be leaving them behind when I take part in the VBKE tournament."
The mountainous region of Galyateto, is also the destination for midfielder Attila Polonkai. The left sided player travelled over to the Matra mountains for a few days, together with his wife and three children. "We are on our way to Esztergom, to the aqua park there, with my family, and I can say not only the kids, but I am also exhausted having spent time with the kids. I still managed to do some movement besides being around the kids. We played an hour of indoor football with friends to keep fit, every 3-4 days. I also went running around the Puskas stadium regularly. I spent Christmas together with the family, as I cannot be with them as much as I want to during the year. So I had to make things up to them. However, at the same time I am really looking forward to the season continuing."
