"We not only celebrate the orthodox Christmas, but for decades now, have also been keeping the traditional Christian festival. My Spanish girlfriend strengthens this part of the year. Ever since I was a child, I was always happy to celebrate Christmas twice, as I received more presents, than if I had stayed in Serbia. However, this is not completely correct, as separate to this, we have lived in Sweden for a long time, and for my family, the 6th January is the real Christmas. We remember the birth of Jesus on the evening of the 24th December. The big family get together takes place over the orthodox festival. We are Serbian so we consider this correct. There was always plenty of food on the Christmas menu, especially smoked ham. Hungarian food around the festive season, is much closer to that of Serbia. Fish dominates the menu for us, while various types of meat are eaten on the evening of the 6th January. My mother has a tradition of always baking a cake called Česnica. The main idea of it is that a coin is placed inside it, and the one who finds it, will have a lucky year ahead. I usually win this.." laughs Bojan. "However, Christmas has not always meant rest and spending time with the family. When I played in England, the end of December was always the most crowded in the fixture calender. So I am pleased that I can spend time with my family over the next couple of weeks, which is the biggest gift for me over Christmas. At the same time I plan to rest, as 2010 was a long year for me personally. We play from January through to November in Sweden, and there is a longer summer break than here, but the winter break is shorter. I arrived at Videoton in July, so I missed my summer break. I plan to visit my relatives in both Austria and Serbia, after the season ends. The rest of the holiday will be spent in Sweden."
