Videoton will be aiming to pick up as many points from their remaining three league matches
It does not seem too long ago that Videoton picked up a point in the 1-1 draw at Siofok. That was the opening game of the season, back on the 1st August, and the red and blues have featured at the top of the league table for the majority of the time since. Videoton have picked up 30 points from a possible 42 points so far this season, which has seen them win nine of those games, while they have drawn three and lost two. They currently lead by three points from second place Debrecen, while Zalaegerszeg have been fairly consistent lately, finsing themselves in third spot at the moment. Striker Andre Alves in another one in hot form at the moment. The Brazilian tops the goal scoring table with 14 goals so far and he has been frightening defences around Hungary with his skill and sharp eye for goal.
Another pleasing aspect of the season so far have been the regular international call up's that Zoltan Liptak, Pal Lazar and Akos Elek have been getting. Gyorgy Mezey's side now face three more league games and the second leg of the Hungarian cup against Haladas. Ujpest are first up at the Sostoi stadium on Sunday 21st November, Geza Meszoly's side are sure to make it hard on Sunday, but Vidi will be hoping to collect maximum points as they look to finish the season on a high.
Siofok will also visit Szekesfehervar a week later, but Siofok have had a good autumn season, after many predicted that they would be in the relegation zone. The opening game of the season on the banks of lake Balaton showed that they would be no pushovers. The final league game of the autumn Monicomp season will be in Budapest, against Vasas. They have been stuttering of late, so Vidi will be hoping to pick up maximum points from the remaining three games. That would give Videoton a great base to push on with at the start of the spring season, with Debrecen and Zalaegerszeg hot on the heals of Gyorgy Mezey's side. Videoton will be hoping that the Alves can carry with his great form over the spring season, which will hopefully result in Vidi's first league title.
